Philadelphia native, staunch Eagles fan, soft pretzel and WaWa hoagies devotee Julia Lehman travels lightly. After living in the Philadelphia area most of her life, she moved to Boulder to become a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the Joint Institute for Lab Astrophysics at CU Boulder. Bringing just the essentials of life—her cat and her bike—she arrived here the week of the 100 year flood in September 2013. We’re glad she decided to stay despite such an inauspicious welcome.
Julia is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and one of her ancestors was put to death during the 17th century witch trials in New England. When she’s not singing or working, Julia volunteers for science outreach programs, particularly those geared to getting girls interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Julia joined Cantabile’s alto section in the Fall of 2014 and has already participated in small ensemble singing opportunities within the group. She loves singing anything by Morten Lauridsen. A particular favorite is his O Nata Lux.
