I Will Not Be Silent

In winter, nature hibernates and the world waits to blossom. Cantabile’s February concert, “I Will Not Be Silent,” features music of action and transformation. If November’s concert celebrated the impossible light within us all, February mobilizes that light to change our world for the better. The program includes powerful protest music and songs from the Civil Rights era, interwoven with Dale Trumbore’s A Calendar of Light movements that encourage us to embrace change. Featured works include Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” “We Shall Overcome,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” and contemporary pieces like Shaina Taub’s “Keep Marching” and Stuart Chapman Hill’s “When Our Voices Rise.”
